T he Government are pleased to approve the Information Bulletin for Kerala Management Aptitude Test(  KMAT-  2022  appended  to  this  order.  Sanction  is  also accorded to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations to publish the information bulletin and for the conduct of online KMAT Entrance examination on 7 th May 2022 for admission to MBA course for the Academic Year 2022-23.

General information & rules related to KMAT examination approved by Government of Kerala published herewith.  Candidate applying KMAT exam are required to go through the information  bulletin  carefully  and  acquaint  themselves  with  all  the  relevant  information relating to the examination.   Candidates are also requested to visit the websites of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations    w w w .c e e .k e r a l a . go v.i n  regularly for  notification and announcements.

 E l i gi b il i t y :

1.   Nationality and  Nativity:  Indians  and  Non-Indians  are eligible  to  apply.  But,  only

Keralite candidates are eligible for all type of reservations and fee concession.

2.   Age     - No restrictions

3.   Educational Qualifications- Candidate should have completed the Bachelors Degree of minimum   three   years   duration   in   the   field   of   Arts,   Engineering,   Commerce, Management and equivalent to satisfy the eligibility criteria for the exam.

4.   Minimum marks –Candidates should have attained the minimum marks as stipulated for admission to MBA course by the respective universities to which the candidate wishes to apply.

5.   Graduating  candidates    –  Candidates  who  are  appearing  for  the  final  year  of  the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply, provided their   results   are   declared before the commencement of the admission process for the KMAT Kerala.

 S yl la bu s: 

The Syllabus of KMAT is based on the fundamentals 10 + 2 curriculum.  Subjects are English Language Usage and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge.

As per the marking scheme, 4 marks are awarded for a correct answer and for every wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted. 

 C e nt r e s :

1.   List of cities along with city code where the exam will be conducted is attached separately.

2.   While filling up online application form, candidate should select Four convenient city codes from the list as their choice of centres in order of their priority.

3.   In case, the number of candidates opting for a city is less than a certain minimum, candidates may be allotted centre in another city irrespective of the city opted by the candidate for appearing in the examination.

 Q u a l i f yi n g  Mar ks : 

The General category/SEBC candidates who secure 10% of the total 720 marks ie., 72 marks and above are qualified for admission for MBA course in various Universities/Department and affiliated management colleges including the autonomous management colleges in Kerala.

For SC/ST/PD category the qualifying cut off marks is 7.5% .

 E n t r a nc e Ex a mi n a ti on s :

a)  The candidate desirous of joining MBA course in the State on the basis of K MAT-

2022 will have to appear for this Entrance Examination.  The admission to the course will  be  based  on  the  marks  of  the  Entrance  Examination,  group  discussion  and interview giving the following weightage.

Entrance test score: 80% Group discussion: 10% Personal Interview: 10% Total: 100%

b)  The Entrance Examination shall be a Computer Based Test of Three hours duration and will consist of 180 objective type question in a) English Language Usage and Reading Comprehension   (50 Questions),   b) Quantitative Aptitude (50 Questions), c) Data sufficiency and Logical Reasoning (40 Questions), d) General Awareness and Current affairs (40 Questions) If any candidate has any complaint regarding the answer keys, the same should be submitted to the CEE, in writing along with supporting documents and  a  fee  of  Rs.100/-  per  question  by way of  DD  in  favour  of  CEE,  payable  at Thiruvananthapuram, within 5 days from the date of publication of answer keys on the website of the CEE. If the complaint filed is found to be genuine, the fee remitted while filing the complaint will be refunded. Complaints received after the stipulated date and without requisite fee will not be considered under any circumstances. Complaints received by E-mail/Fax  will not be considered  on any account. All complaints on Answer keys received will be referred to subject expert committees to be constituted by the CEE. The recommendations of the Committees will be final. Necessary modifications   will   be   made   in   the   published   answer   keys   based   on   the recommendations of the committees and the marks for the deleted questions, if any, shall be distributed as per the ruling of the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala in 2002(3) KLT 871. Individual replies will not be given to the candidates on the decision of the Committees. 

 V al ua t io n :

For each correct  response the candidate will be awarded four marks and for each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score. However, in the event of failure to answer questions, (i.e. no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet) no deduction from the total score will be made.

 P r oc e du r e f or ap pl y i n g o nl i n e :

All candidates seeking admission to the course should apply online through the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

 F i ve  s t e ps  f or ap pl y in g  o nl i n e  :

There are 5 steps for the online submission of application and all the steps are mandatory. Candidates should complete all steps and the candidates are advised to keep a softcopy or print out of the acknowledgement page for future reference. For the online submission of application, candidates have to visit the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in where he/she can find the link “KMAT 2022 - Online Application”.

 R e gis t ra ti o n :

This is a one time online process during which the candidates will get a system generated ‘Application Number’. The candidates should give necessary basic data and create a strong password during the registration process. Candidates are advised to create a strong, unique  password.  The  requirements  of  a  strong  password  are:  a  minimum  length  of  8 characters, a minimum of one alphabet character [a-z or A-Z], a minimum of one number (0-9), a minimum of one symbol [! @ # $ % ^ &*]. Don’t use a shared password or disclose the password to others. Be informed that the application number and password will be required till the end of the admission process.

 F i l l  A p pl ic at io n  :

All the basic information required for processing your application are to be filled in at this stage. Before filling the details, candidates are required to read the Information Bulletin. The data provided here will be used for processing the application. Any mistake in filling this page or providing false/incomplete/wrong information will affect the candidate’s eligibility for the examination. It is obligatory that the candidate fill all the mandatory fields in the application.

Candidates should take utmost care while filling the Online Application. Applicants should ensure that the data provided are correct before proceeding to the next step. If the candidate is sure that the information provided in step 2 is correct, click the link ‘Save and Finalize’.

Note: - No modification will be possible after the Final submission.

 P ay  A pp l i c a ti on  Fe e: 

Application fee for General and SEBC candidates is Rs.1000/-(Rupees Thousand  only)

and in the case of SC/ST candidates and those eligible for SC/ST benefits as per G.O (Ms) 

No.25/05/SCSTDD dated 20.06.2005 is Rs.750/- (Rupees Seven  Hundred and  fifty only). Applications can be submitted in online mode only.

Two payment methods are available for remitting the application fee.

•  Online Payment

•  e-challan

 O n li n e  P ay m e nt:

The Application fee can be paid through the online payment gateway. Those having an Internet banking account, Credit card or Debit card can make use of this feature. Candidates availing this facility should read and follow each of the instructions given in the website carefully  in  order  to  ensure  that  the  payment  is  successful.  On  successful  payment,  the candidate will be guided back to the home page wherein he/she will find the ‘Pay application Fee’ tab at the top turned green and can proceed to uploading a photograph and signature. If the payment transaction was unsuccessful, a message to that effect will be displayed on the screen and the candidate will be guided back to the homepage. On the other hand, if the candidate fails to  receive  the  final  confirmation  (success  or  failure)  message  and  is  uncertain  about  the outcome of the transaction due to communication failure or otherwise, he/she can re-login to the home page and inspect the ‘Pay Application Fee’ tab at the top to see if it’s green or not. If it has not turned green, the payment has not succeeded and the candidate may try frontline payment afresh or resort to the e-Challan payment mode. If the candidate’s account is debited for an unsuccessful transaction, the amount will be reverted to his/her account within five working days.

 e - c ha ll a n  Pa y me n t  ( Po s t  O f f i c e ) :

If the mode of payment selected is e-Challan, the applicant needs to take a printout of e- Challan by clicking the link ‘Print e-Challan’. Payment can be made in cash at any of the selected  Post Offices in Kerala. The e-Challan should be handed over to the post office counter along with the required cash. The post office’s officials will make necessary entries both in their online portal and e-Challan form. The counter foil of the e-Challan must be collected back from the post office. It must be ensured that the official has recorded the Transaction ID pertaining to the payment on the counterfoil of the e-Challan and put the office stamp and his/her initials at the designated places on the counterfoil. If the payment was successful, the

‘Pay Application Fee’ tab in the candidate’s home page turns green. Candidates are advised to login to the website and examine the ‘Pay Application Fee’ tab to make sure that the fee payment status has been updated by the post office official. If the payment tab has not turned green, the candidate should immediately contact the post office concerned and get the payment status updated. The list of Post Offices for collecting application fee is published on the web site.

A studio generated soft copy of the latest passport size colour photograph with light coloured background in jpeg format between 15 kb to 100 kb of size and resolution 150 x 200 pixels is to be used for uploading. 

•  The photograph should not be taken with the candidate wearing a Cap or Goggles.

Spectacles  are  allowed  if  being  used  regularly.  POLAROID  and  COMPUTER  / MOBILE-PHONE generated photos are not acceptable.

 U pl oa d  Si g na t ur e o f C and i da t e:

•On a plain white sheet, the candidate should put his/her signature with black/blue ink.

•   Scan this signature and crop around the signature. Do not scan the full sheet.

Scanned image file should be in jpg (jpeg) format.

•Dimensions of the image signature must be 150 pixels width and 100 pixels height.

•  File size should be between 10 kb and 100 kb.

• Scanned image of the signature must be clear and complete.

 P r i n t  A c kn o w l e dg e me nt  P a ge :

After completing the above process, the candidate can take a printout of the acknowledgement page by clicking on the link ‘Print acknowledgement page’. Candidates are advised to keep a soft copy or printout of the acknowledgement page for future reference. Printout of acknowledgement page should not be sent to the office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

 I s s u e  o f  A dmi t  Ca r d:

The Admit Card for the Entrance Examination can be downloaded from the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, www.cee.kerala.gov.in. Admit Cards will not be sent by post from this office. The date of issue will be notified later.

 O t h e r It e ms : 

1.   The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not entertain any request for change of the date and centres of entrance examination once declared.
2.   All  disputes  pertaining  to  the  conduct  of  examination  shall  fall  within  the jurisdiction  of the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala.
3.    Any  other  items  not  specifically  covered  in  this  Information  Bulletin  will  be
decided by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and his decision shall be final. 

 G e n e r a l I n s t r u c ti ons : -

Merely appearing and qualifying in KMAT 2022 does not confer any right on the  candidate  for  the  admission  to  the  MBA  Course.  The  selection  and admission to the MBA course is subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility and such other criteria as may be prescribed by the Government, Universities and Institutions concerned.

Application of candidate submitting false and fabricated information will be rejected and such candidate will be further debarred from appearing in examinations conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.  Such candidates also be prosecuted under applicable laws for criminal offences and suitably punished.

Incomplete application and applications not in accordance with instructions are liable to be rejected without any further intimation.

The examination fee once deposited will not be refunded.  Fee will neither be carried forward to a future examination nor refunded.

Applications once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Candidates must note that mere deduction of fee from the Bank account is not proof of fee payment. The payment should be supported by fee payment and generation of a confirmation page.

Instructions  in  the  Information  Bulletin  may  change/be  updated  based  on decisions  taken  by the  Commissioner  for  Entrance  Examinations  and  other authorities from time to time.   Candidates are advised to check regularly the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in   for any further updates or information. There will not be any communication by Post  or email in this regard from this office.

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations reserves the right to withdraw permission, granted inadvertently if any, to any candidate who is not eligible to appear in the KMAT 2022 even though the admit card has been issued by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

Candidate eligibility for KMAT 2022 is purely provisional and is subject to fulfillment     and proof of eligibility criteria prescribed by the admitting institutions/authority as applicable.
